Great job dude! I appreciate you were willing to go DIY than spend the outrageous prices for the aftermarket kits.

Very simple/Very cheap/Very effective

Nice job! Its these kind of DIY efforts that make each car unique.

Anyone see the lights on the new Kia forte coupe? They seemed to nail the afterburner effect pretty spot on.

Op, good work!

Thanks again everyone!

Here are the dimensions of my half moon cutout. Don't forget to double check the direction you will need to bend for each specific housing. It'll save you the time of having to cut another because your tab breaks.

Update:

I did pull my lights to check the seals and make another mod.

Seals were fine with the silicone.

I re-adjusted my outer two taillight half moons. I felt that they were tucked to far inward. So, pulled the light, the screw and slid the half moon out another half inch and re-sealed. No issues. 20 minute fix per.

The original location was based on looking at the lens straight on, it worked. But, to cars in the rear the outer tail light lens are actually canted outward and this tucks the half moons to close to the inside. By moving the half moon outward, it centered the half moon as it is viewed from the rear.

Do you find the brake light are any dimmer with this mod? Or is it pretty reflective to compensate for covering the partially up?

I'd be pretty interested in this, though it matters on the price.
