Thanks guys! I did not register for the March '15 Texas mile event because the car may not be running by then. Still working on clutch, transmission, and compound boost....

2013 ZL1 -ADM - 427 LSX 6 bolt, O-ringed block built by LME. Twin PT6466 turbos. RPM custom manual trans, RPS Quad carbon clutch, 9" Hendrix rear diff & axles. ADM/squash fuel system, Ron Davis radiator, Spal fans, AGP air to air, turbo plumbing. LPE oil cooler, rear bushing upgrade, roll bar...etc. rwhp 1400+... 212.5mph, best Texas mile to date.

Jess, you look so calm in that vid! I just went 160 in the half mile event in Ocala last weekend and my pucker factor was through the roof! Is the Texas mile on a runway or a road. In Ocala we were all slipping and sliding most of the way down the runway! Good job man!

Texas mile is on a big runway. With my car I have to go really slow through the first 4 gears or it blows the tires off and then when I hit 5th I can stand on it. The video is a conglomerate of several runs but if you look back and watch the gear change portion of the video at about 1:20 on that run, I put it in 4th and pushed the gas a little too hard and it started to get sideways so I had to make a quick correction with the wheel. Other than the one run where it started getting sideways really fast at 150mph ....all is all pretty calm. I think I have lined up for about 40 passes on that strip so at this point it has lost some of the emotion that it once had. It is fun though.... especially if you get a good run.

Awesome run!

I noticed you bought a C7 Corvette as a DD. Congratulations! I just want to say thanks for sharing your experiences with your ZL1 with us and you always come with a wealth of knowledge. I appreciate your contributions ( as well as a select few others ),and, hopefully, you can continue doing so and not get too sidetracked by the C7. I always look forward to your posts. Thanks.

Thanks, I have tried a lot of different things in the ZL1 engine bay and based on racing and street driving to the track I think I have a good idea what works....some others don't always agree but at least you know I'm not trying to sell anything.

Well as much as I wish I never had to make any more mods on the ZL1 I'm sure that will not be the case. Since the C7 is a daily driver, at this point I'm planning to keep it completely stock.... In stock form the C7 Stingray handles great and the power is really good if you keep it below 150 mph.....Once it hits 5th gear it is cruising more than accelerating.

I'm sure I will stay around here....my ZL1 is as expensive as my ex-wife...and much more loyal.
