Numbers are in: Chevrolet Cruze was the best selling compact in the industry last month.

Son #2 has a Cruze and loves it. How's it going, Fen?! I like your thread a lot - even have a question for ya: heard a rumor GM is working on a small truck (S10/Ford Ranger size). True or false??

Haven't heard from you in a while.
They're working on midsize trucks to replace the GMT-355 Colorado/Canyon. They won't be that small though. Their main purpose is to provide an offering for people who want/need a truck but don't like the fuel economy of the K2XX full size trucks.

Buick is becoming a reach out and grab you brand. They are doing things they should of been doing all along. I am glad they are AWD the midsized Regal this time around now if they would offer the Turbo V6 they would gain some market share. They should the VXR Vauxy has it lol |

They'd have to certify the 2.8T for the US market and honestly, from what I understand the benefit really isn't worth the cost. The 2.0T in Regal is plenty good enough.

Well, phooey. Nobody offers a small truck anymore - oh well. I can just keep hauling everything in the now 15 years-old Astro van...
So, are you gainfully employed now or ??!!

I bought a 96 used S10 a couple months ago with 63,000 miles on it. It now has 65,000 miles on it, I am averaging 24mpg in mostly city driving with the 2.2L 5 speed. I think GM screwed up dropping the S10.

Not really. The trucks needed to be replaced.
The GMT-355s weren't bad when they debuted but they were quickly outclassed by other midsize trucks and they didn't offer enough incentive to buy one over a Silverado or Sierra. That's what GM's working on with these next-gen midsize trucks. Focus on fuel economy, completely separate engine lineup from the K2XXs, with a dual approach to the two brands. Colorado will be more of a lifestyle truck while Canyon will be more work focused.

I know they did. S10s and the like were really handy, hardworking vehicles that got decent mileage, and no one is filling that niche. I don't want a big-a$$ truck capable of hauling my entire house - just one that can bring a load of stuff from Lowe's or the grocery store is all.

Well there's this. Nobody seems to like them but they're exactly what everyone asks for.
