i want it to sound powerful like 350z...or something like

i made the huge mistake on assuming like my last car that flowmasters sound good on everything... very wrong, there should be a sticky somewhere on what NOT to get. flowmaster 40 series are aweful!!! sounds like a ricer! and ive already talked to another guy who had the same problem.

now i know it will never sound like a v8, but i try and think about other powerful v6s, and like the 350 z comes to mind, those sound great! can i put their muffler on mine?? what do you guys think about that. i mean i think they sound familar to a porshe! i want it to sound powerful, but as a v6, just like the 350z or other compariable car...

please tell me your thoughts!

I have the MRT axle-back.. and while I don't exactly know what a 350z or that type of car sounds like, I do seem to get a lot of those types of comparison on my you tube video:

Comments:

Sounds like a VQ engine. Nissan / Infinity

It actually does sound like a beefy 350z or g35 engine.

Aww man that sounds sick just like a 350z.

Like all of you are saying IT IS practically identical in sound to the Z and G35. N1 Topspeed 350Z exhaust is what it reminds me of.

Have fun with the appearance of your car but leave the exhaust alone.

Enjoy your car and start saving for a SS or Z28 or C5Z06

I'm just saying, you might as well save your cash and get the v8 later on.

One mod I do recommend for a v6 is a turbo, supercharger, and or n20
Go back and re-read... OP wrote: "now i know it will never sound like a v8" He doesn't want a V8 sound... he knows it's not possible... what he wants is a good performance V6 sound...

BTW... there is no turbo or supercharger currently available... There is N2O though...

Performance v6 sound... no disrespect intended, but when you get your v8 you'll understand why I'm pulling you this way.

I had a v6 I messed around with and am letting you guys know what I would've done differently.
I've had V8s... my V6 was faster... so what's our point... If I wanted a V8, i would buy a V8...

Who put a cat-back on? I did an axle back...

1) Stock mufflers are ugly
2) Stock mufflers are very heavy
3) Stock mufflers are quiet

New axle back:
1) Looks better!
2) Much lighter!
3) Sounds great!
4) Some performance improvement

Heres an idea...

How about you get the hell out of the V6 forum?

I mean - you have no interest in the V6... why are you even here?

@ the op - I really like the sound of the MRT and also of the Magnaflow. However, I also think theres a lot to be said for a custom job - just playing with it until it sounds like you want. I mean, thats how the MRT kit got started.

To me the good looks of this car are hard to even remotely affect by changing exhaust tips. Lighter... How will lighter exhaust tips benefit the car? Just saying... and sounds great... I can understand that. Some performance improvement? How much and is it worth the cash? Some mods are not worth the paper imo.
Axle back = new mufflers and new tips, not just new tips.

OK.. this thread is not for hounding the V6 guys.

They don't want the V8. So let them build their rides the way they want.

Respect their choice.

So please contribute to the topic of the thread in the way it is intended or move on...

"just put a V8 in it" is not an appropriate contribution.

thanks

Okay, okay your V8 is badass and we all bow down to you. We are not worthy with our V6's. Now go away so we can have some intelligent discussions again.
