Tail lights aside, which I dont like either, there is just way too much plastic on the rear end. Anyone know why the Camaro out sold Mustang by such a large margin in the 2011-2012 model years? You guessed it, one of the biggest reasons was the ugly rear end of the Mustang. I like the front end changes but am not a fan of that new rear end. Thats just my humble opinion however.

I have a love/hate relationship with the 5th gen camaros it looks ok up front but the heat extractor on the hood are too small it could have been designed better 2014 model still has that ugly dash the rear lights are ugh! And I HATE the fact Iom is discontinued another stupid decision was to kill the dream of everybody that anticipated the wait for return of the Z28 with making it only available with a manual transmission that mistake was made with the 1le I thought car companies were in the business to sell cars not make people wait years for an overpriced (the Z28 will be up there) car with one speaker and only a manual transmission that's thinking like ferrari spending all that money on a car without a radio is just stupid & how many times will people go to the track with their cars? If I spend $40/$50 grand on a car I would want to drive it everywhere not just on the track I don't think much weight was reduced by removing a few speakers what are these guys thinking at chevy/gm? Because for the last few years their thinking has been backwards

Not sure I like the trumpet looking exhuast tips.. I rather see regular dual tip design.

Taillights

Good observation. I still like the 2010-2013 series taillights much better. (It's all idle speculation for me, in any event; after nearly 2 years, I still have less than 10K miles on my 2011 vert, so I'm not in the market for a new one anytime soon ...)

Your 100% right!!! I hate plastic, and that is why I not buy a 2013 California Edition Mustang the licsense plate area is all cheap ugly plastic!

You do know that the entire rear and front bumpers are plastic right and have been since 2010. The only thing is this is black plastic, which is less appealing than body colored plastic.

After letting the new design marinate in my mind for a couple days, here are my thoughts.

The front end - slightly better than the old front end. I think it separates the new Camaro from the old ones better, which is what I feel is a healthy evolution of the styling. It looks sleeker and faster, but the RS is a must or it looks horrible, just as with the old nose. There are enough retro cues in the rest of the car that nobody will question whether it is a Camaro, but it now will stand on its own outside of the shadow of the first generations.

The hood - interesting idea, but the power dome was one of the coolest parts of the old styling which is now completely ruined. Not a bad look, but a step back from what it was before.

The taillights - When you have a refreshing modern restyle to the front end that helps the car stand on its own, you now have taillights that hold it back. They are not better than the last ones, and as many have said, look plain. Some retro cues are better left in the past.

Interior - a step forward. The seats will rock and it just keeps improving.

Overall - I should have been excited when the Z/28 was announced, but I felt disappointed in the restyle. It took a lot of staring for the front end to finally grow on me and the back end keeps looking worse the more I look. It's the one thing holding this car back, but for $60,000, I'll take the new Stingray instead.

Agree...I had a 03 Cadillac EXT w/ the color called "OUT OF THE BLUE". IMO There is no better Blue. What a color! Due to the pigments in some of these special custom colors GM did add an additional charge on the sticker price of 12-17 hundred dollars more.

Exactly! Scott even stated in is OP that the taillight design was inspired by the '69 Camaro. For all you haters, go look at the rear end of a '69.
