Dang I can't wait to see a 1LE versus track pack GT500 comparison. It should be real good. I'll be surprised if they can really match the handling of the 1LE, but I think that extra power and DCT versus the manual 1LE might be a nice advantage.

Lap times will be the teller!

In a straight line...we know who the winner is.

Given the S550 chassis capabilities when Ford runs more power (GT350 vs SS 1LE), I am going to assume that the R spec will come close to the ZL1 1LE, but still fall just short (drivers being equal). The extra weight is going to cost the GT500 the most.

Either way, it's going to cost a lot more than a ZLE, so that needs to be considered as well.

Glad to see this thing finally get some daylight...been in the works for a long time.

I'll second that! My dream car would be a ZL1 1LE with LT5 and Carbon Brakes.

Wish they would do that as a response to this. And make the A10 optional on the 1LE. I like the 1LE being manual only, but the A10 would probably be faster and with 755.

ZL1 1LE with LT5, CC brakes would give this a run for it's money. Add the A10 and you would really be comparing apples to apples. Seems easy enough.

I could see GM adding the LT5 and CC brakes to the ZL1 as a be-all/end-all Camaro in order to squash all competitors. They have the capacity to do it, but with Mary Barra and her band of goons at the helm, it is questionable that it will happen.

Completely agree - I would put a deposit on one immediately.

2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500

Lots of hype on the 2020 Ford Shelby GT500. What a beautiful and amazing car from what I can tell. Ford just realesed a press video that states sub 3’sec 0-60 & a sub 11 sec quarter mile. Their 4200 Pound Curb Weight GT500 will not be beating us in stock form.

The way they worded it, it'll be close. Between the trans knob and Venom kills Demons, it's a huge let down for me. I look for final numbers to be 3.3 to 3.4 0-60 and 10.8 quarter mile.

Yea dude really sounds like a 10.8. That is ZR1 Territory.

Never thought I would see a $100k Mustang but, looks like this will be the one.

Good call. Ford and their rediculous "dealer added markup" will very likely put it up there. I was at my local Ford to drop off my son's truck for service, and noticed one of the Bullet Mustangs....with a huge markup sticker. A very ugly rendition, IMO, not even worth the basic sticker price.

The new GT500 better be a miracle car for what they'll be priced...

I'm super surprised about the DCT. I could have sworn both GM and Ford were dead set on making or even putting one in any of their cars. We consumers have been wanting this for a very long time. I only want to know if it's really theirs or if they sourced it from somewhere else....

And Ford has had a long time to develop the GT500. So it better not be flop like the GT350 and GT350R.

The brochure said it's a 7-Speed Tremec DCT. I think it's an awesome move by Ford to offer a DCT, but if there truly is no manual option, then that's unfortunate.

While I love my DCT, I am selling the car to buy something with a 3rd pedal.
