since you're in palm beach, winters don't really matter, so, this is just my opinion... i'd get the Camaro 1SS only at MSRP though. i say 1SS because i think the cloth will work better in the FL heat, but if you want the look/feel of leather, go for the 2SS. i don't say EVO because i don't think you need the AWD and in my opinion the Camaro looks and sounds so much cooler. i also prefer the power delivery of the LS engine. that is just my own opinion and i wish you luck.

also, don't pay over sticker.

I am running a Perrin Stage 1 map. I don't have a dyno sheet but from the company:

My gas mileage is about 22 in the city and 29 on the Highway. It varies sometimes. I don't drive like grandma either.
Or
Get a dyno tune for less($$) and gain +70 hp

This is an onboard camera video of an Evo 9. It passed a modded 4th gen Camaro and a stock 5th gen Camaro.

Personally... I'd take an Evo X MR over a 5th gen. A buddy of mine has one, that thing is a beast.

The MR doesn't use an automatic transmission. It uses a Twin Clutch SST.

It's not an automatic, it has a clutch.

Can we just have an Evo v Camaro sticky? There's a new Evo v Camaro post about every 3 weeks.

Really it's not either manual or automatic, it's an automated twin-clutch gearbox. Which isn't nit-picking, it's a pretty big feature. Auto's don't have clutches. Twin clutches are hyper fast shifting vehicles relatively speaking.

But we're talking from a driving experience perspective. Either you want a truly manual car or you want any variation of automatic, whether it be automatic, paddle shifters, etc.

FWIW, I own a 2006 EVO MR w/ quite a few mods. Puts down over 400hp at the crank and about 390 at the wheels.

I'm selling to buy a 5th gen Camaro 2SS/RS manual. Just put the deposit down today as a matter of fact (with Gunn Chevrolet who DOESN'T surcharge!)

Sure, my current vehicle would run circles around the camaro at the track. It would probably hold its own in a straight line even--once the turbo kicked in.

However, here are the reasons I'm moving over relative to my car (IMO):

Exterior design: Camaro > EVO 9
While the Evo's look mean, they also present a perception of immaturity -- both with the 9's and 10'. The Camaro possesses a strong, sleek, and mean look while also exuding a sense of conservative style.
Interior quality: Camaro = EVO 9

Interior design: Camaro > EVO 9

Overall HP rating/power to weight: Camaro > (stock) EVO 9
The EVO's are in the high 200's stock, Camaro is in the low 400's stock.
Overall HP rating/Power to weight: Camaro = (my) EVO 9

Handling: EVO > Camaro
My car has aftermarket suspension, aftermarket wheels, and high performance brakes. It takes corners like a go-cart with no other vehicle being able to match it that I've come across (outside of an STI). HOWEVER -- I'm not taking the Camaro to the track.
Miscellaneous characteristics:
This sort of goes back to the same thought process as first one, but the high pitch engine, whistling, and blow-offs are starting to become indicitive of my younger, less-mature, import car owners. The EVO seems to be drawing a lot of negative attention on the highway--both from cops and from moronic street racers. So I'm going to go the way of the mature car connoisseur .
I've owned the import racers--but now it's time for some American muscle.
