1994 camaro 3.4 v6 Service engine soon light - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

My service eng soon light comes on after I drive About 7 miles,after I shut off eng and start it back up,it is not on till I drive it a few miles then comes back on.Anyone have any ideas...

Mine has been doing this and I believe mine is probably emissions related. I had my EGR valve replaced thinking this would cure the problem but didn't seem to help. My 3.4 runs fine and doesn't smoke so I basically ignore the light. Mine seems to come on after driving on the highway then slowing down in town. It usually goes off after a few miles.

My mechanic recommended the EGR and the OBD on the 94 doesn't seem to be very specific as to why it throws a code.
