Zl1 1le as a daily.

Hey Forum members.
Planing to order zl1 1le camaro ( 6 speed)
As living in nyc planing to daily it. Just drive around 20-50 miles a day
Nothing crazy.
Whats you guys think of the stiffness of the car on nyc roads? Will it be problem?
Just watched so many youtube videos and everyone complain about it.
The problem is that I can’t even find one near me to test drive one and check how it rides.
Heard that if you change stock tires to 4s the ride will be much better for daily use( trueor not?)
I had before m2 competition and c6 z06( both cars kinda low and stiff)
Also anybody knows how long the build process takes now? And better to order 22 or 23? Price difference 5000$ .
Thanks 🙏

You'll be better off with the standard ZL1 and its magnetic ride control as a daily, get the big wang for it (heck, you can even throw in the 19" wheels+tires) if you want the 1LE look You will literally never even warm up the tires on the ZL1 1LE on the street, so no dry traction advantage, and I don't think those **** NYC roads would give you the best in terms of road feel no matter the DSSV dampers.

The PS4S will be a million times better on cool/cold and wet pavement plus they are somewhat quieter, especially when new; the tradeoff is some dry traction and a bit softer sidewalls.

4-6 months is typical.

I can’t speak to the daily aspect of it but availability is pretty nonexistent. You can’t order the ‘22’s anymore but if you can find one anywhere go for it as they are exactly the same as the ‘23’s but cheaper. I’ve been waiting for 4 months at multiple dealerships and can’t get my order picked up. I know someone else who has been waiting since January. They have just been on perpetual constraint.

Supposedly, the constraint on 1LE packages will lift in October. I do know that today there were only 4 A1Z packages allocated nation-wide.

Unless your daily drive is on the racetrack, order a regular ZL1 with the mag ride or a new C8. You will be happier with either over time.

I’ll second what s.hammer posted. The 1LE looks great, but I’d save >$7500 and get a ZL1 without this package. I could have ordered a 1LE last December and it would have immediately gone to 2000 status.

I told the sales manager that i didn’t want the rough ride After taking delivery of the regular ZL1 I’m glad I waited a little longer.
