Dart 427 questions?
Just got finished having a dart 427 built. Forged 4.125 crank, 6.125 rods, Mahle pistons that should be 9:5:1 compression and a custom ground cam motion cam. Issue is motor only makes 100psi in all 8 cylinder. Seem low right? Did a leakdown at TDC with motor 100 percent intact and had only 3 percent leakdown. What is causing the low compression? Could really use some help.

Don’t panic!static compression really doesn’t really mean that much leak down is all you should care about. Cam over lap will change everything. If your leakdown is 3% on a brand new motor I’d say you’re fine. “Don’t worrie til it’s time to worrie” Tommy

Also check your valve train make sure a rocker isn’t cracking a valve
