LLT Oil Pressure Sensor

Got a problem of zero oil pressure. At times, pegged continuously at 70, other times 0. Now consistently 0 but no oil light. Kid evidently drove it at 0 for some time. I parked it until I at least change the oil pressure sensor, where removal is now the problem.


The thing is made of like some soft aluminum with rounded edges. Obviously made to NOT change. Don't have a socket that big, but I think a socket is just going to round it off more. Tried an adjustable wrench but not enough room for that. Tried a basin wrench (for removing sink faucets) but there's not enough mechanical advantage for any of the real force to remove it.


There must be some special tool for this, like something like a water heater element wrench? I guess I can take it to NAPA or harbor freight and see if I can find something.

Looks like a specialty socket is made for the sensor if you don't have one that will work.

I think I have time to hit Harbor Freight and see if they have one first and still order this one to get here tomorrow if they don't have it.

How did u find this? I've searched the internets for hours trying to find any info on some of these problems.

Hopefully this fixes this problem. I still got more to fix. This Jasper motor only has about 6 weeks left on the warranty so I have to get all of this little stuff out of the way to rule out bigger problems. Thanks!

That's nothing a good pipe wrench, or vice-grips can't handle; if you can fit one
in the area. I use a pipe wrench for inner tie-rods all the time. Or, the monster
vice-grips. I have yet to use an actual tool made for inner tie-rods...

Got er done. Oil press gauge is back to normal. Thanks for the info.

I would recommend the tool from Amazon over a regular deep socket. The 1 1/16th socket I got from Home Depot started to round off the head of the sensor. The Amazon socket is shaped exactly like the head of the sensor…rounded edges, not pointed like a normal bolt and fits perfect between the sensor and power steering line. Worked perfect but to break it loose took considerably more force than the 25 ft-lb torque I heard in the video.
