There are no headers that are CA legal... you can do shorty headers but not worth effort

My one Question is: Does it take more than the Borla ATAK exhaust for the ZL1 to sound mean ?

My friend has a Mustang GT 2016 with Borla on, and omg, that car sounds mean as F

Well, that's a flat plane with a ridiculously high rev. So the comparison I moot.

Mine sounds good with a CAI. I'm adding headers soon and think that will do it.

You will not find and CA legal headers to make it sound mean. A stated above you can get a set of shorty headers but it is not going to get you what you want.

Where are you in the bay area?

Negative. The 2016 Mustang GT does not have the VooDoo 5.2L 8250 RPM flat-plane crank engine. It just has the typical 5.0L 6500 RPM engine with 412 crank HP.

Just because he has a Borla exhaust does not mean a Borla on yours will make it sound the same. However a cat-back WILL add volume, just not near as much as Headers/deleted cats, even high flow cats.

As mentioned, there's no legal option for you except a cat-back. Furthermore LT headers would require a tune and that with an intake will also make you fail whatever inspections you Californians have to deal with.

I am in Fremont a lot since that is where my parents live. I currently live in San Jose. Have to meet up some time to let you listen to my car. I have a set of Kooks long tubes with no cats.
