Here's a new one for you guys... Horn?

One relatively important part of my cars have always been the horn.

I'm never afraid to lay on it when the opportunity arises. But one worry of mine is (don't worry, it won't sway me from a final decision, it is just a horn after all and I can replace it ...) that it sounds like my girlfriend's CRV's horn. But if the Camaro comes with a horn like one on the old Saab 9000s, I'd definitely be pleased.

If it DOES sound like my girlfriend's CRV's horn, I'm afraid I might never be able to use it without revoking my own man card.

Input please!

Meh the horn sounds like what I assume your GF's crv sounds like. But on the other hand the car has enough power that you usually arent behind anyone!!!!!!!

Plus the cool factor while let you keep your man card and gotta have one flaw ya? Make it the horn.

Cheers

If it's not loud enough, install a Nathan K3LA train horn. It'll be plenty loud enough, promise.

The 5th gens horn sounds a 1000x better than my sis' 4th gen. That thing sounded soo pathetic! She was embarrassed to honk. LOL!

The boys down at my garage have something like that installed on an extremely inconspicuous ford ranger, and I definitely feel like adding that to a mod list of mine. They drive by my house when they're going home for the night and sometimes give me the full PSI power of the horn, and every time it scares the #!@% outta me!

I am doing this mod myself. I found a few places to get the self contained air horns, one set I have found are pretty damn loud, anywhere from 120 to 140 db......will certainly get ya noticed.

The Camaro does not have the same kind of sheep-bleating horn that most Honda's have. It's pretty f*in noticeable, solid tone.

Probably because it was broken. There are two horns on the 4th gen, a high and low. The low on mine broke and now it's just a high pitch until I fix the low.

(first honk is obviously the original.)
(this video at about :47 seconds is the normal camaro horn)

Even from those videos you can hear the difference. Also, my girlfriend drives a 2005 Honda CRV, and one can tell that the Camaro horn is deeper and lower than the CRV "meep meep!"

I always thought it would be fun to have tractor horns on my car before I got the Camaro. Not so much now. I do like the Camaro's horn, though I wouldn't mind it being a bit lower in pitch.
