New '12 IBM w/ CGM stripes hitting the streets in MI. Built 1/23/12, Delivered 1/31/12.

All shined up after two days of buffing out all the scratches from shipping and the factory stripe install. They really need to add some quality control to the train/truck shipping process. Or better yet, let us pick them up directly at the assembly plant.

Nice to see another blue SS in Michigan. Make sure you bring it to Bakers on Sundays when the weather gets good; I'm there with mine and only see a few Gen5's out there. Stripes were probably done at the dealership. I don't believe Oshawa does any striping and I'm sure the scratches would never get through the customer care process.

Mine had some scratching damage on the passenger side at delivery; same deal, someone brushing up against it but my dealer has a great detail guy and actually brought him to my house! Problem solved quickly.....

The dealer didn't touch my car, I washed/prepped it myself right off the truck. Stripes were done in Oshawa by the off site facility the plant sends them to across town. Factory RPO for CGM stripes. They could use a little retraining on damage free stripe installs. Or at least reinspect the work after the car comes back to the plant. They dragged the squeegy off the sides of the stripe across the bare paint, scratch city on both the hood and deck. Oh well, a lot of elbo grease and I've got it perfected now.

I've done a few stripe installs myself and always put down some blue tape next to the stripes so the squeegy doesn't drag across the bare paint. I should have just done these myself, but thought I was leaving it to the pros.

You sound like me; I told my dealer I'd clean the car and to leave it just the way they found it. Had them trailer it to my house too! Bummer the outsourced stripe application didn't go well.... Never assume with GM.

Had I ordered the ABM I was going to install white stripes to match a 68 Lemans Blue Z/28 I used to own. Quite happy with the IBM; it's very close to the 2001 NBM SS I also used to own....

I have an IBM 2011, I think they look great on there. I bought a pair for mine won't tell you from what distrubitor. But I learned a lesson when I got them They were ABS plastic crome covered really cheap quality. Isent them right back,my personal opinion.Anything goes on my blue thunder it has to be metal quality .
