Finally, progress with starting the part / mods process. My wife had a set of SLP springs installed and a 4 wheel alignment done last Friday. It looks good but it's not without issues.

The garage somehow messed up one of the wheels and left some scratches on the fenders. I already made a call to them (from freaking Afghanistan) telling them about it and they said to bring it back ASAP. Lucky, right on the way is a bodyshop I highly trust so Tammy will get an estimate for repair on the way. The car has 216 miles on it and "was" perfect before the spring work. Oh well, sh!t happens I guess.

OK, update. My wife stopped by the body shop for a quick estimate. $200 to clean up grease left all over where ever the mechanic put his hands, foam-pad out marks & scratches across the tops of the fenders & bumper cover and a wheel. Yeah he wrote it for a new wheel but we'll probably end up having to have it repaired. Total, about $700 give or take a little.

The shop that installed the springs was pissed. They gave my wife a hard time right from the get-go saying there was no way they could have done to the car what was wrong and that it was like that when it came in. OK, our word against theirs and the same in return. The car was perfect before it went into the shop, end of story. After me calling them at 1am Kabul time standing outside in the freezing cold in my PJs I was just a little bit pissed to say the least. My point was clearly put across to the shop owner and his wife. After much discussion they caved and are going to cover the cost of the repairs.

The disappointing part is they have a good shop and are great people. They do a ton of business as we live in a very rural area and choice is minimal when choosing where to take a vehicle for service/maint.

This really sucks for you. With only 216 miles on it the shop shouldn't be giving you any crap and just bite the bullet and fix it, or pay to have it fixed. i really don't understand what happened to customer service in the last few years....
Good luck with this and thanks for your service

Vince

Sorry to hear that t&t. I agree with Vince, you shouldn't head a word from them other that "yes we'll fix it".

That's BS they were giving you trouble, especially with you a serviceman overseas.

Glad to hear they're finally agreeing to fix it though. Better than nothing.

Oh and Vince I have a update for ya on the ticket, I'll PM you here in a little while. I'm on my phone right now, lol

Looks great! What'd you paint them with? Rattle can or did a shop do them? If rattle can, what color and brand did you go with? I want to paint mine with a rattle can in the meantime as I have plans for a new grill in the future.
