Yeah I've read it but it sounds like they are back peddling. How would you not have knowledge of something that big? SA really dropped the ball.

Maybe I can get one of those nice SW revolvers!

After reading Springfield's (and Rock River Arm's) response, whatever hesistation I might have had with regards to selling my 1911 Range Officer and LAR-15 (especially now that I've been laid off...again) is all but gone, along with their chances of my ever buying another of their products.

Already found a buyer for my 1911, but nobody in my neck of the woods seems to want a fixed full-length stock, 20" HBAR AR (pretty sure if it had a 6-position stock and a 16" barrel it'd be gone already)...

That was the impression I got as a total newbie to pistol shopping. I can't say it was the only reason I ended up with a Colt Gov't Model rather than a Range Officer, or even the primary reason. But it was on my mind.

I've read a little more in depth on this and they did more than drop the ball. The CEO may doomed his company. My impression is they were looking to cut a deal, 86 a majority of dealers, and reap all of the profits.

As a manager at my company I know you need to follow through when things happen and cover your ass. Long story short, I got in big trouble at work for not doing the CYA.

At a time when there are so many pushing for stricter gun laws and gun bans, they (SA) couldn't have made a worse choice at the worse time. They are only sorry because they got caught. Sad. Sorry guys, not trying to make this thread a political discussion. Just frustrated. Lets move on guys and gals and enjoy our sport.

Has anyone read up on a new bill going through Congress called the Second Amendment Guarantee Act?

I might have told you before Norm, but that's my neck of the woods growing up. I was born at JFK in Stratford, lived in Magnolia until 8 and then moved to Atco. My parents graduated from Sterling.

Only what came in one of those NRA emails.

Never could see the logic in denying responsible gun owners the right to own any specific firearm just because somebody else thinks it's too scary-looking. Even before I started my own buying of guns.

Who says people use logic? Most believe what the media says without actually researching the truth. Case in point. I showed a female coworker my tactical M30 (mini 14 big brother) with the tactical stock, foregrip with a red dot sight.

I ask if if I could take her 14 year old son shooting and I got a HELL NO! Not going to let her son shoot an assault rifle that can kill people with one pull of the trigger. (?) Never going to happen.

Ok, so I showed her the ranch version with no handgrips, wood stock and no red dot. She said she wouldn't be bothered by that one so much. So I asked again, would you let your son shoot that? Yeah, that would be ok.

I explained that it was the exact same rifle with the same capabilities!!! How people can believe the media is either because they don't seek out a source who knows or don't want to know all together.
