05-09 Mustangs
Hey all!!!! Im know this is a Camaro forum and all....but i dont feel like switching over to a Mustang forum (Plus u guys are awesome!!!!) just for a quick question.....
As some of u may know, ive been looking around for used cars and looked over many many models and am still getting information on alot of them. So yeah, heres my Q: I was wondering if there are any specific years to watch out for in the Mustang (05-09 years) and which year you thought was best. I do not like 2010- 2011 year models, so dont offer those please Looking for manual (idk if theres been problems with specific years transmission like the 350z). So all info appreciated!!!!! Thanks again and again

I have an 06 GT, and haven't had any major issues. There is an issue with fuel pumps causing a stumble after long highway trips, and park brake cables freezing in cold weather(shouldn't be a problem in Florida). Some ball joint concerns(squeeking) and some noise TSB's show up. Lots of problems with skipping with the CD player on 05-6's. I had that but changed over to an F-150 in dash Nav unit. My car has been very reliable, my only expense has been new tires and the Nav unit. It is a daily driver with 50k on it.

08-09 Bullitt is the best one hands down.

What's your price range?
As far as reliability, the 05-09 mustangs don't have many big issues. Some rattling interior components over time and whatnot, but no really common mechanical issues. |

Yeah i like those, theres a couple where i live.
Unfortunatly, i have to go with a v6 (insurance :(). Luckily the prices for an 07 (year ive been looking at) v6 Mustang are ridiculously cheaper than the v6 Camaro price ive been looking at also.nearly 10k difference. I can get a 07 v6 mustang with 30k-40k miles for 12-14k (with leather and other nice things too )

2003-2004 Mustang SVT Cobra, aka Terminator
I've seen them run mid 12s in basically stock form and when modded, the sky is the limit. Alfie

If you've got a price range of 21-22 OTD, why not just save up a little longer and get a V6 Camaro? I can tell you that you'd be FAR happier with it than with an 05-09 V6 mustang.
I took one on a fairly extended test drive and I was not impressed. The engine felt like it was having to work WAY to hard to get the job done, and the transmission was just terrible. Just my two cents. - X
