So, now we know where the gen 6 needs to fall.

Wow only 435-hp, that’s a disappointment. Most really figured on 450+hp. Given the battle between the 15 GT, SS, and R/T, the Challenger R/T with the optional 485-hp 392 will be the street king.

Agreed. Similar to what Ford did when the ZL1 came out.

Exactly. That's how the game is played. Why this is a surprise/disappointment to some eludes me. If car companies went all out performance on model year one, then what would happen for the rest of the generation...appearance SE's?

Of course all the being said... i really don't care for the looks of the 15... LOL
And then you will also have the 4 banger mustang probably faster than the v6 Camaro...

I expected the 5.0 numbers just by going by fords previous track record. New style with a minor bump in HP and TQ for the first year or two. I am some what disappointed in the EB numbers though, as that's what I was looking to get to replace the G8 as a DD. Only way i was hoping for 325ish HP and 340ish TQ. Only way I'd consider one now is if it gets 34+ MPG and I doubt it will lol

Because its all about the numbers and for those wanting to own the first 6th generation mustangs, know in the back of their mind the following year or so there will most likely be a numbers bump. Same reason why people buy new phones constantly, as soon as the next big thing comes out. Unfortunately not everyone can afford a new car every year lol.

Now that pictures of the Gen-6 Camaro are available, the only Ford advantage I envision stock-for-stock with Gen-6 Mustang is the EB 4 vs. current T-4 GM ratings (and that, of course, is "subject to change without notice").

RWHP from all versions of all competitors will be "interesting"...

If these are the Euro numbers then you'll still see a 8-9% increase in power under Overboost situations, which would get you in the neighborhood of 335hp/345tq. Granted that's only for 15sec at a time, but still nice.

Not too surprised. Actually thought the ecoboost might have a tad more. I am sure the 5.0 will jump again in the next few years, but I would perfectly happy with 435HP

except I don't think GM is in competition with fords turbo 4, since fords 4 banger is the middle variant, and GM's supposed 4 banger is the low/base model.

Really surprised the V6 is going down 5hp. I think ford is doing this to push buyers to the ecoboost and phase out the v6. I bet in 2016 they have the ecoboot and v8 and that is all. Looks like if you want a v6 better to get the 2014 it weighs less also...
