Stock OFFSET

Okay, I did the search, I read every thread to find the answer, and I can't believe that someone hasn't given the answer or done what I would have done to help a buddy out. How about SOMEONE, ANYONE, take off one of the stock front 20's and one of the stock rear 20's and find out the answer that so many people would like to know, WHAT IS THE OFFSET of the stock 20's. Thank you very very much. :{D

Can you verify it? I've also heard 35. The SS cars may also be different than the V6's.

Depends on which car you have. Do you have an SS with Brembos? Offset is primarily for clearing the brakes. Clearance also depends on the style rim you've chosen. It's usually a bit risky unless you've done a test fit, to buy a rim with a smaller offset because it might just start touching the brake calipers. Going a few mm bigger usually is fine unless you go from like a 40 to a 50, then you might start having fender clearance problems with the tire.

Only way to be sure is to put a rim on your hub and see if it clears the brakes.

Offset is primarily for fender/inner well/strut rub.

I expect to see different offsets for different cars, ex: LS may be different that LT/RS, < may be different than SS, and fronts different than rears.

WAIT.

I have a set of 20" MSs sitting in my garage. What the hell is an offset? and how do I measure it for you. I'll do it when I get home in about 30 minutes. PM me to tell me you got this post.

I guess just measure the center distance and then eyeball it level from the inside. It slopes so won't be perfectly accurate.

Oh. I will lay it on the ground and measure from the floor. Should work.

That will be off slightly... Best way is with a straight-edge touching just the inner rim, not the sidewall, and measure to the inside of the hub.

Or, It should be stamped on the wheel someplace.

Look for something similar to this...
