Opinions on some tools that you are using

Have you found a particular brand of oil canister tool that you prefer for removing the oil filter for our ZL1's, and also a particular torque wrench
that you have found that are well made.

For a torque wrench, this is what I use.

Craftsman Electronic Torque Wrench, 1/2 in. Drive
Item# 00947712000 | Model# 47712

For the smaller stuff (like oil drain plug which is normally 18f/lbs tq'd) I use my smaller 3/8" Craftsman. As for the can itself, one of the KD Tools (Napa brand) end cap style units that have the metal center. Key on that can is just a 3/4 hand twist. (I always fill the can 3/4", lube the o-ring good....and get close but give a nice "spin" freehand to touch the base....THEN...to the 3/4 turn. Always get a new plug and washer as well.

Yes I believe the torque on the plug is 18 and 22 on the oil filter (not sure how you would torque that). I'll look into the end cap style tool for the oil filter sounds like the way to go. I just ordered a dimple magnetic oil plug so will be re using that and just replacing the washer. Thank you for the information, getting set to change the oil this Sunday (suppose to be 70).

For the oil filter I use an AC Delco tool. Picked it up years ago. Its the best one I have ever seen. Has a short handle with 1/2" square drive holes in it.
