4l80E 1/4 mile and street

I've searched the forum and found a bunch of threads talking about the swap itself but only one where someone mentions taking it to the strip. Anyone notice much difference on the strip with this swap? And how about on the street, let's say stoplight to stoplight. I'm thinking the only problem will be traction with my setup as she already spins.

Look at the th400 posts and just add the fact of overdrive and a touch more weight.

This is another consideration of mine. I plan too go bolt on maybe nitrous And cam for quite a while. Will a th400 or 80e hurt me vs a driver mod and staying m6 since I won't be making a ton of power and the 80e has such a tall first gear?

Thank you. Didn't think about that.

I wish i had of went with i higher stall than 3600. I can only manage a 1.6 60'. Went 10.4 first and only time at the track with the 4l80. It was shifting way early and ive since added more meth and more boost. Hoping to run a high 9 here soon

I haven't chosen which stall to get yet. Everything else is has been decided so far. I'm waiting until after the holiday to talk to the shop that's doing it all. I also started looking at some things on nitrous express but doubt I'd pull the trigger.

I did the swap and was cutting low 1.5 60s. I was using a 3000 stall. mid 1.4s were in it with more converter. currently switching to glide so no further data for you

I run consistent 1.44 60 ft with the 4L80e and ZL1 convertor. It's a little loose on the streets but I have gotten accustomed to it.

6l80/90 converter in a 4l80e? I didn't know they shared the same input shaft

It's modified by RPM Transmissions. Stage 5 build.

If you're looking for top drag strip times, auto is your way to go. Much easier to dial in, and much easier on the driveline. Definitely not as engaging or rewarding as rowing your own gears, just depends on what's most important to you.

If you have allot of HP it should help you, I have had a 1.378 60ft with the 4L80. The first gear is the biggest difference.

Yeah I would just leave on more boost.

The more I read about it the more I see I will not regret the 4l80e. Will be done by November.
