I've asked myself that question, did a lot background and corresponding with very knowledgeable forum members, plus the builder. ...going VVT with PRC heads. The builder will use Ed Curtis to spec the cam and Lunati to do the grind. I understand another old quality cam grinder (Crower) is increasing production on their custom LS family of custom grinds. I'm the Lunati grind will be in the 231/240, .63x/.62x range. Not sure where the Circle D stall will be, but the whole package will be a kick in the pants.

Did you checkout the TSP grinds? The VVT-3 & VVT-4 both make over 100 flywheel hp gains! I'd easily put either against anything available on the market. They were both engine dyno developed & you can add cnc porting of your heads on exchange for $750 on special!! Not only that but we will also mill your heads to the desired compression to match the camshaft!!

The gpi vvt ss3 made over a hundred to the wheel on mine...not flywheel. I think the tsp VVT cams are good for sure...but the gpi grinds are great as well.

Call an expert/shop and answer their questions. Have plenty of coffee ready, because there's MANY questions to be answered. You plans for the car 5 years from now do not count. NOW is the questions to be answered. You likely find you're gonna need a few thousand more than what a cam would cost. Big cams/stock motors/chassis = disappointment.

I have what I would call a big cam, and while my local tracks are not open, I will say that this car is really fast now. I've had a past car that went 10.9@123 on motor and I think my car has it in it right now.

my L99 with Comp Cam LS3 Custom Grind 235/244 on a 112 w/ .621/.612, 3.91 gears, factory stall converter, Long Tube Headers w/ o no cats, will do 3200 stall soon to aid in the "bucking" of daily driving:

Love it!!
