You know, it seems like I participate in different threads on that subject, at least once a week. It's not like I don't mind, otherwise I wouldn't. I just thought the engine represents the heart of the car, probably, more than anything else. What good is a car that handles well, but doesn't have significant enough power to put that handling to use? I'm not suggesting that power is the end-all-be-all; that's why I said significant I think SS has the b@lls, power-wise, to put any aftermarket set-up to the test and it would pretty much kill a Mustang GT with a Track Pack, but I just think the engine is the soul of the car. No one raves about a car without mention of the powerplant.

I'm seeing what you're saying in the results though. I, personally, don't think an LS9 is in the cards if Z28 is going to be in the same price range as the 500, but I hope I'm wrong. If we could get a 600 horse' LS9 in Z28, I'd probably sh*t my pants; I just can't really see that happening, considering everything else that would probably be upgraded.

I kinda' want to change my vote now, lol

I agree that conversation is a good one. And I think if a ZL1 option is on the table at GM the LS9 is a better fit from a heritage perspective...

And another engine works as a Z28.

But we have only heard of the Z28... and if I can have it my way I want the LS9... I do understand that it doesn't really fit the heritage of said model....

but I think I can deal with it..... If I HAVE to....

No, serioulsy. I think GM can figure out where to draw the line between heritage and performance driven models. I think the bottome line is hopefully we can show GM that, on some level, there are a few of us that want the LS9... How they package and brand it is a different converation for sure.

I agree that the engine is the heart of the car! I also think the engine has to match the end goal.....

That is a good point. I won't be carving too many canyon roads especially since I don't live in the mountains and I really don't want to go flying off into the woods in my fancy Z/28.

When the news of the Z/28 possibly starting back up came out I would have never thought anyone would even consider arguing against the LSA/LS9 motors. But, given the heritage of the Z/28 and other versions, I now think that GM should consider multiple options. I'm not overly interested in a track geared car as much as I'm interested in a drag geared car but, I can see how someone wouldn't want the same as me.

My only issue will be that IF they did make a track car and not put a supercharged motor in the car then it wouldn't be worth it TO ME to get that car. I'm in it for the power.

LS9 hands down. I think its the only thing that would make sense. Its the only engine that they could drop right in and not have to re-engineer that would make it worth getting a Z28.

LSA or Gen V...(frankly, I'm surprised the poll isn't 90% slanted towards the GenVs...

I would like to see an LS9 (as we all would, ), or a "hybrid". But the former is too expensive, and the latter is unlikely.......
