Thank you.

It handles just fine as the brace is more for on center feel as well as appearance. The chassis is so stiff it is really not needed, but most people like it and it has a placebo effect. It was added weight up high over the front of the car I do not want.

Installed a rear tow strap:

I have a front tow hook and wanted a tow provision for the rear.

I did not want to cut the rear fascia where it would be visible but I wanted something permanently mounted to the rear (steel) bumper.

Sparco strap was about $21 on amazon...I am a pack rack so I have a bunch of grade 8 nuts, bolts, hardware so I just dug in the garage to find the right stuff. I did cut and trim as well as move some wiring. You need to be willing to do this to install the hook the way I did.

All mods, cuts, trimming is 100% hidden when the plate is secured including the tow strap.

New 1/4 PB of 12.91 and new Waterford hills PB 1.20.88

I spent Saturday at Waterford Hills Raceway and then Sunday at Lapeer Dragway....I am going to combine both days here:

Waterford Hills: You can visit my signature to see my build thread and read other track days at Waterford (and other tracks) so I will just sum it up here:
  • Ran a new PB of 1:20.88. This is still on the Goodyear Eagle G2 tires, Pedders springs, Roto-Fab intake and CTS-V brakes.
  • I had to drive the car very very hard to get it there.
  • I hate the stock seats......I have never disliked them as much as I did this weekend and I don't like to be negative but I am done with them. Waterford is a short tight track and I was spending more time trying to stay in the seat than anything else. If GM doesn't release the Recaros soon (and price depended) they will most likely be swapped for a set of Sparco race seats soon.
Lapeer Dragway:

Ran up to Lapeer on Sunday just to see what the car would do....When it was 100% bone stock is ran 12.991 @ 108 on a nice 64f degree day. Yesterday was about 84f.
  • Ran a new PB of 12.918 @ 110.16. It is not much faster than last year, but it was warmer and I have only added a CAI
  • It was way harder to launch with the Pedders springs on the car. The stiffer rear springs doesn't allow as much weight transfer and the Goodyear G2 tires have no sidewall flex....Couldn't best a 2.1 60ft. (I have been drag racing for 20+ years. I know a set of DR would help a lot)

Matt

1LE with Z/28 Wheels & 305/30/19

Let me just leave this here.....

A couple of quick items.

  • This was not what I had planned for my day today.....but stranger things have happened.
  • I did not use the Trofeo R tires...I have Zero patience and installed a set of Bridgestone RE050 that were take offs from the rear of two different Porsche 911....I will figure out what tires I really want to use later.
  • There do stick out, there is more fender to tire gap, it does look a little strange. Rocks are gonna fly everywhere.
  • Stock ZL1/1LE front wheel w/285/35/20 tire was about 60lbs on the digital bathroom scale
  • Stock Z/28 Front wheel with 305/30/19 tire came in at 55lbs on the same scale
  • 285/35/20 OD is 27.85"
  • 305/30/19 OD id 26.20"
  • This lowers the car about 20.5mm (or 1/2 of the 1.65")
  • The car is already on Pedders springs front and rear
Picture time: Z/28 on driver side: ZL1/1LE on pass side (285/305 combo)
