General G-MAXX tires good for performance and winter snow?

So it's that time, my first set of new tires.. What are everyone's thoughts on the general gmaxx tires for winter conditions? People who are running these tires, please feel free to chime in!

All Seasons are only marginally better than summer tires. I run my BFG G Force Sport Comp 2's all year, but it rarely snows here.

Check out the tire section and you will see all kinds of reviews.

I have them myself, but try not to drive it in the snow if it can be helped.

How are they in cold and below freezing temps? I am interested in them as well. How much of a "performance hit" is there in the summer?

Winter tires are not about snow. It's the cold. All that info is in the tires section of the forum.

In the summer they break loose easier than the P-Zeroes did, but they are pretty good. In the winter they're definitely better than P-Zeroes, but you still have to be careful. I ripped through my Pirrellis in 11 thousand miles since I drove on them year round (Central Illinois, plenty of cold and snow). I switched to these tires and can't say i've been 'wowed', but I haven't really been disappointed either. I did notice that I've got 10k miles on these and I'm already into the wear marks... maybe that's just my driving though.

I had them on my 11 lt2 and now on my 14 SS...and think they are great. They took me over red mountain pass in 6" of fresh snow and didn't miss a beat...they also nightly being me home safely on frozen roads. Depending on where you are at at the temperature variances will determine what you should buy. Rudy at tire rack is an awesome resource also.

Having said that I have my snow tires waiting because they truly aren't made for frigid winter conditions and below zero.

Good luck..they are also great looking on

I have a pretty mild winter where I live, and rarely ever have below 0 degree temps! Hopefully these are good for me!

I have 5K on mine and love them. We will see this week how they do in the cold. Frigid air is coming tonight!
