I do agree that you shouldn't obsess over little things like that cus it will drive you nuts for no reason but I would be pretty pissed if I had to go through what he had to go through. They should have just said "hey we're not epuiped to fix this damage, sorry for the inconvenience" also this will be at no charge and be on your way.

If you want it perfect, you'll have to pay for the correct job. Key scratches, and door dings with damaged paint require repaints of the entire panel to properly blend the paint. Having said that, it may seem unnoticeable when the job is done right to the novice but a professional will be able to tell it was repainted.

Unless you repainted the whole car, that would be anal.

I want to get rid of my car because the paint doesn't match on the driver side fender and door.. I'm sure most people don't notice it but I do and it bothers the hell out of me. Even looked at a yellow 2015 Mustang today but payments would have been too high.

Wanting a job done right, especially since you paid for it, is not being anal. A good body shop would take care of you and it shouldn't take five attempts to get it right.

I had some paint work done on my CRT Camaro. I told the body shop manager there are 3 ways he can do my car, right, wrong or perfect. The GM plant has never done a perfect paint job. Wrong is just wrong. So I said make it look like the plant painted it, orange peel and all. It looked perfectly right when I got it back.

Unfortunately, As i found out on my car you have to paint more then one panel with todays paints or it wont match. When my front end was backed into I eventually just ended up getting all panels re painted because i could see were it did not match.

To the OP....the answer is NO......you are getting paid to do a job....if they are not doing it right.....well there is no treason for YOU to have to accept an inferior job/product.

Dude I'm the SAME WAY. Tho I would've used a paint less repair. The ding guy in my area is freakin awesome. I've never been disappointed. And I've never been there when he has fixed my dings, my wife always points him in the right direction and when I get home, it's PERFECT. just sayin....
