G3 Supercar compared to the G2?

Hi Rudy, I saw a fellow member with a Gen 5 1LE was running (and liked) the new G3 version of the Goodyear Supercars. The Tire Rack website shows the 285-30-20 G3 is taller than the 285-35-20 G2. It also has a lesser load rating.
I've not been able to verify any of this on the Goodyear website, but have no reason to doubt what I see on Tire Rack's website.

My questions are;

1. How can a smaller 30 series/ratio tire be larger in diameter than a 35 when their tread width is the same?

and,

2. The load rating on the G3 looks suitable for a Gen 5 1LE. Is it?

It's almost time for new tires,
Thank you

Something it not right. The 285/30/20 would be shorter by just over an inch in diameter compared to a 285/35/20, not taller.

PROZ11 is correct, they compute to be ~ 1 inch shorter diameter

Yes, and that is my point.

https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...F1S3&tab=Sizes

G3 shows 28.8 inch diameter and shows tread width to be ,7 inches wider.

https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...2LV2&tab=Sizes

G2 shows 27.9 inch diameter.
This does not make sense to me.
I've tried to get info from Goodyear's website, but that is a very poorly designed website. One of the worst I've seen.
