I bought this at Carmax. Should I take it back there or go straight to the Chevy Dealer for warranty work?

Thoughts?
The TR6060 in general is problematic with build quality from Tremec. Some people have no issues what so ever but others experience 2nd or 3rd gear grind or hard to shift issues, even in current model year. Do a search on Google and you will see Dodge and Ford guys having issues with the TR6060 for years before the 5th Gen Camaro came out.

Switching to a synthetic gear oil like Royal Purple or Redline D4 is hit or miss for some people. Most people say it helps smoothen out the shifts and some have said they don't get the gear grind any more.

The TR6060 uses a lower viscosity gear oil that's similar to ATF. The use of ATF oil or ATF type gear oil has been used for years in many other manual transmissions. Nothing to freak out over, you're just not used to the concept.

Same for me here, I never had the grind issues, but much better shifting after I changed to Royal Purple Syncromax.

I also have the 2nd gear grind ive taken it to the dealer x2 and they replaced the the clutch pedal assy cuz I was also having issues with the pedal getting stuck when it was cold and I would have to pump it to get pressure especially when it was cold. Since the replacement its hasn't stuck anymore but it seems now that the 2nd gear grind is getting worse only on high rpm shifts itll grind everytime.

I noticed changing the fluid with fresh dot4 helps for a lil while but then it goes back to the normal grind on 1-2 shifts.

Thank you for the clarification. Should I expect to have problems with this tranny for the duration of my ownership?

. Change the tranny fluid, do the seperate clutch reservoir mod (100$), change clutch/brake fluid regardless. Lingenfelter makes a spring for the pedal to prevent it from sticking as well.

The spring was also replaced at the time of the pedal assembly havent had the sticking issue since. Just the 1-2 grind at high rpm.

I had my M6 overhauled under warranty last October and second gear is fixed but third is just not right and it was notchy so I changed the trans fluid to Mobil 1 full synthetic Dexron III ATF that Tremec does recommend and the trans does shift much better now. This is a problem that GM will not admit to but if you insist the dealer will fix it if the call GM tech line. They also said that third gear was wiped out but third was fine before they touched it.

I own a 2013 SS with a TR6060. 2nd gear has always been fine for me, sometimes a little snag but nothing bad. My issue is 3rd gear. Under high rpm 2nd to 3rd cold or operating temp, intermittently there is a HELLACIOUS grind more often then not. Can't even get into 3rd, I have to wait a bit for the synchro to catch up and lightly TRY again.

I've taken it to 3 different dealers per GM customer service, and they all say it happened once but it's due to cold temps... I'm beginning to think I'm the crazy one...
