thats the Zr1. that extra $30,000 and 150hp buys you almost 3 seconds. Not bad. The Zr1 is a cool car, i just wish they had a different body on that thing!

of all the road courses ive seen, the Nurburgring favors the higher powered cars more than the others. It has long straightaways with sweeping turns and not very many directional changes (like quick left to right). Auto makers go there because it lets the cars "stretch its legs" yet it still provides a lot of variation (turns) and even different surface compounds.
then try sticking to topic and quit talking Ford.

what are you talking about??? ive been on topic as possible on these threads and usually dont take personal shots at the posters and instead, focus on the posts themselves. You should do the same.

please. This was a SS vs Godzilla thread. All you could do was bash the Vette, and talk Mustang. Give it a rest.

i didnt bring up the vette, others here did and show me the quotes where i "bash" the vette. I see people bashing the competition (ie, calling it a "joke", piece of crap, and other unintelligible rants) but i've tried to stay on topic so quit trying to troll and turn this excellent discussion into a flame war.

Why does this thread still have activity?

OP is a troll and a faker.

The GTR looks like a bunch of other cars just mashed together.

To Evil twin, I consider you to be one of the more informed/educated members of this board, but I have a hard time believing you even agree with your own posts on this topic, that is why I side with wesman on this subject regardless of GM/Ford slant.

His argument summed up is the Vette has equal/greater performance with higher reliability and more driver interaction.

I honestly cant figure out why you would even think the GTR is superior, other than the fact that you do not hold GM products in high regard.

The zr1 and camaro are both much sexier to look at than the gt-r.

This thread could definitely be used as an example of reasons why they should be terminated, extremely off topic and turning to childish jabs back and forth...

threads like these make me realize how many die-hard GM fans there are on the board, that do not seem to appreciate performance cars in general.

the GTR is an amazing machine - puts down better times than much more expensive exotic cars in terms of performance.

I cannot fathom ANY car shopper looking at both the GTR and the Camaro SS - there is about a 40k price gap in between the two, they are in entirely different worlds.

Since when is a low 12 1/4 mile ET and less than 1g on the skidpad "amazing" for $85K??

Its not.

Much more epxensive exotics make the GTR look like the overhyped piece of shit that it is. Even the Z06, for less money, is much faster and more impressive car. Plus, it actually looks nice, unlike the GTR which looks like a turd on wheels.

It's not that people don't appreciate it, it's that others seem to think these exotic cars are God's gift to us. The GTR is a great car, but for $85k you could get MUCH MUCH better. A low 12 car for 85k? No thanks. I'll take my 70k Z06. Or build my own car. Also you better than 20k saved up for when you fry your GTR transmission using their launch control.
