Any flex fuel model?

Hi All,

Are there certain trims or years for convertible which run on E85 by default?

I see some results filtering on flex fuel on cars.com for used 2015/2016 but I'm unsure if it is valid/OEM or an added kit+sensor by previous owner?

Only spec on engine I found says the v6 is flex fuel capable but I'm not getting a definitive answer from the dealerships selling those.

Hopefully you guys know! Thanks

to the forums, Matt. No, there is no Camaro model or trim that can use flex fuel from the factory.

GM did make sure fuel system components aren't damaged by ethanol, plus the calibration (tune) does have settings dedicated to flex fueling. However, these settings are not set correctly from the factory, so in addition to the missing hardware (flex fuel sensor to read ethanol content and send it to the ECM, with associated fuel lines) you also need a custom tune to "activate" flex fueling.

In some cases, depending on your other mods if any, your factory fuel system may not have sufficient capacity to use full E85 due to the excess fuel requirement with ethanol, in these cases one needs to blend E85 with 93—for example, I have a supercharger and even with a bigger cam I can only use up to E60-65, which is still fine with me, because diminishing power returns kick in hard at E55-60-ish.

Still, this is a relatively inexpensive and very beneficial mod, it's just that your powertrain warranty will certainly be toast because of the custom tune that's required.
