Definitely got me a little worried. I was planning on skipping some of the clearance checks, etc, but I am definitely going to do them now. And follow all the instructions in that "How to work on Gm LS engines" book.

Looks like Lethal has been having trouble in one way or another with Yank, so we are switching to a Vigilante stall converter from Precision industries. Should have it in a week or so!

Well, one of the least fun parts of the build came in haha. The oil.

My converter and trans cooler lines/fittings should be in next week.

Did a bunch of research on the oil and found Amsoil to be the best performing and the best deal.

You changed your mind quick! lol

Are you going to switch between that and Z rod? I will be running Joe Gibbs LS30 year round.

Haha, I did a lot of research man. The tests I saw didnt include Joe Gibbs, but I know its highly recommended too.

The tech expert at Amsoil that I spoke with said he would recommend their signature series synthetic year round, and switch to Z-rod for racing.

Since ill probably only go to the track a couple times a year, thats actually do-able.

Nice. I'm stuck in another conundrum now. I have that OEM LS3 intake manifold, but now I'm trying to do research on the FAST 102. I know that the intake is gonna cost me more than 800$, due to the NW102 TB, AN braided lines, and fuel rails, but I'm not concerned with price. I'm concerned with how much I would gain over a ported LS3 manifold for the amount of coin that I would put into the FAST setup. And the fact that I already have a spare LS3 stocker doesn't help either, lol.

Duuuuude, port that stock one. Lethal does it, im sure others do to. I know theyve used FAST intakes too, pm or call nick/shawn and ask what theyve seen as far as gains with the stock vs FAST.

I say, port the stock, especially since you can send the spare one in. And you can put all that extra money into tires or suspension. You will thank yourself when you go to the track and actually hook, you will love that more than the extra 10-15 hp you would get over porting the stocker.

You were exactly right dude. After talking with Ryan (GPI) over the phone today, I'm going to drive to him and he's gonna modify my intake When I get back In December. Definitely looking forward to being a test car for his shop so others after me can make a solid choice between ported stocker or FAST.
