Question Manual Shift Lever Issue

OK I've searched and searched and haven't found a similar issue. I was replacing my shift knob in my '12 SS using the instructions to twist and pull... Well, I pulled the freaking shift lever right off the base of the shifter! I can put it back on, but it doesn't stay very well obviously.

Did I screw up/break the lever? Or is there a good way to reattach?

Appreciate the help!

Looks like the shift lever is toast. The section that pulled apart is the molded section (rubber) there for vibration isolation.
I don't know of any way to fix this unless you try drilling a small hole (3/16) through both the shifter and rod then put a pin through both to hold it together.
Better solution is just replace it with a Hurst Shifter

I have a low mileage 2010 take-off shifter assembly. Should work fine. I pulled it out early on to put in a Hurst shifter. $25 plus the ride if it would help you.

Aaaah! Thanks. My first thought was to try to glue it, though I'm not sure how that would hold up.

Thanks. Do you have pics of the assembly you can send?

Thanks I'll let you know today. I'm bidding on a Hurst shifter and if that falls thru I'll take yours.

I have an OEM Hurst short-thrown that came stock with my 2013, if you're interested. I installed a MGW.
