jewel, I actually had something similar happen to my car last year. It might be the same thing:

The volume all of a sudden started increasing without me touching anything at all. I could see on the radio display that the volume was going up until I actually turned it back down. Once I did though, a few minutes later the volume started going up again on its own.

If I recall correctly, I turned off the stereo using the On/Off button in the middle of the volume knob and left the radio off for a few minutes. That seemed to solve the problem for me, but yours could be a different issue all completely.

Sounds like you have sticky fingers for some odd reason and all that stickiness has gotten in yo button. lol.

sounds like something got stuck between the contact and the button on the steering control, might try some canned air and get in between the cracks on the steering controls and see if you can blow it out..

just a thought.
