Driveline issues HELP

2010 Camaro 2ss Manual with Hendrix Twin Carbon Street Slayer. Just trying to get an idea if anyone else had this issue. 40k miles, 504rwhp.

Driving it hard went to shift to 2nd gear, heard a dull thud then no power hit rev limit. Car shifts in and out of all gears, clutch pedal is still firm and didn't see any leaks, when you put it in any gear it creeps along intermittently as if its slipping very hard and doesn't kill the engine. H.E. said they have never rebuilt a twin disc clutch to date. Thinking it might be a bad slave, master cylinder or something else. Anyone else have this issue? The shop is trying to gouge me already and they don't even have it apart yet. trying to avoid huge repair costs.

Same thing just happened to me . I took the passenger wheel off to check the axle and my dss 1000hp axle was snapped at the end with the axle nut.
Drive shaft shop got me back in action with a outer half shaft next day air for cheap money.

Same thing just happened to me with their axle . Except I was taking my axles off and it snapped off behind the nut. I asked dss if they had this happen before and they said no. And this was last Thursday.

check your diff. Drain it and see if there is metal on the magnetic drain plug. do the same thing with the transmission fluid.

Yes , when I took the wheel off to check it the axle nut with the threaded end of the axle was broken off .
I was surprised it was the axle . When it broke I thought for sure it was the differential seeing that the diff. Is still the stock one .

just make sure not to over torque the nut, the newer hubs are not like the old ones that set the pre-load on the bearing. when you tighten a axle nut in any 5th gen axle its actually a solid part its going thru (Hubs are warm formed, inner edge is rolled over the race) if the torque is to high it can break the thread area right off, go with Factory spec on them.

Yes to both of those. You will want to check these simple things first before diving in deeper. Transmissions are dropped preemptively all the time because those 2 things weren't checked first
