I know that I made fun of the mustang. I must say that it is a good looking car - a nice black one outside my office right now. Looks really good. I like the front end. I realize the back is a throwback design..... but, it just doesn't work for me. Looks awesome on that 1969 Mach 1 though.

This is my favorite Camaro of all time. The 502 ramjet FI engine makes it fly.

[QUOTE=SpeedIsLife;8984051]The Mustang's slant is supposed to be a modern take on the slight slant the 69/70 Fastback's had. They didn't have a vertical rear end panel, it was canted about 15 degrees forward.
[ That's one of the best looking mustangs for sure. The 2013 tried to copy it and came close. 70 Boss / 2013 Boss 302. However the school bus yellow ( below ) not my color. Too loud.

When I see a Challenger my eye it drawn to how high it sits and the skinny tires. It looks like it's on stilts.

That being said the car is a definite icon. I still prefer the first gen to this but when they look as nice as in the post above it's hard to hate on it. |

As for me I prefer the S550 style compared to the cartoonish Camaro look. Especially from the back. That said I prefer driving the Camaro day to day. On a long trip though, I prefer the Mustang. It is a better CAR overall. The Camaro is more fun to drive.
And also to me the 5th gen Camaro is a a better looking car, but the CA6 is more fun to drive as well. I would also prefer a 5th gen on a long drive. Those boomy harsh runflats are annoying and the car feels a bit cramped.

I agree that it is all a matter of personal taste in terms of styling. I like the look of the front of the new Mustang well enough. I can still see Mustang, but the current Ford styling gets a nod as well. Pretty clean looking. I HATE the back end, though. The way it is slanted just looks awful to me. Blech. The other thing that I think looks weird and bad is when behind a new mustang, the rear wheels look like they are way out to the sides only under the fender flairs (sort of). To me it makes the car look very insubstantial and cheap.
