Top of Pikes Peak 14,100 Ft. Base of Mountain 62 Degrees Top of Mountain 16 Degrees and wind blowing 30mph. We made it to tree-line before the girls in the car insisted that we put the top up We definitely got some looks when we pulled in. What an awesome trip.

That is a great drive. Now you have to go back in a few months when you can drive all the way to the top with the top stowed.

We're planning a cruise through western Colorado and Estes Park the end of July. We'll be making the Pikes Peak run on the way back.

No sputter at all. 3 cars moved over because they could see we were having no problems. Climbed it like a champ.

That will be a KILLER drive! I live 20 min from Estes Park, and drive thru there at least once a week in the summer to de-stress It is very beautiful. If I can make a suggestion though, if you are heading up HWY 34 west to Estes Park, make sure to take the Glen Haven cut off. It is much more senic that way, and it will drop you right into town just above the Stanley Hotel. Not to mention there are a ton of pull offs to have a quick picnic.

Thanks for the tip. I believe that's the route we have planned. We'll spend the night in Vail, then drive through Granby to Estes Park. Don't know if we'll spend the night there, or continue on to a friend's brewery in Longmont...

Yes, it is now paved all the way up. I have made the trip up twice in the Camaro and plan on another when I go back to Colorado. Btw, I was able to get all the way to the top with the top down and the heater on full blow. It was 40deg at the top and I didn't have a jacket..lol

June of '74 my last adventure that way. A long time before fuel injection. The Holley 650 double pumper was seriously looking for some air. The 3/4 race isky can wasn't helping a whole that day.

I love the drive to Pikes Peak. I've made it a few times in my Camaro.

Here are a couple photos from the summit.
