2013 Camaro SS, brake pads replacement quoted ~ $1600 from dealer!

Hi guys,
I drive 2013 camaro ss and I have about 25k miles on it.
My dealer quoted about 850 for front brake pad and rotor replacement and about 550 for rear brake pads. He said it is OEM from GM and doesnt know the name.... is the pricing fair, because it is too darn expensive. Any comments appreciated.
Also, he called and said 20% brake pad is remaining in the rear and they cant remove the rotor, so that has to be replaced too and he quoted 360 more... What does that mean he cannot separate the rotor - am I getting really ripped off hear?

Thanks

Dude do it yourself it's not difficult to change rotors and pads at home. But yeah that price seems way too high.

Are you sure that's not a quote to replace all four rotors too? That's stupidly overpriced for just pads. Even if that were the case it still seems like too much...

Rear rotors are probably caught up on the E-brake shoes which means they will have to beat on them a bit to get them off . Doesn't mean they need replacing though . Personally I think they are ripping you off . But then again I do my own brakes . If you don't do your own brakes then that's the cost of doing business . Call around and get some quotes on the job . Then decide .

Thanks for the reply guys.
Basically they are replacing all rotors and brake pads....
I really like the OEM brakes because it is actually pretty good...are there any out of market brakes as efficient as OEM or can I get OEM brake pads/rotors ordered?

New acct, first post, wrong forum, supposedly from California and no mention of Dealer name...$1,600 seems legit. Or you can upgrade to the 6 piston CTS-V front calipers, rotors, pads and replace the rear pads yourself, then take your significant other to Morton's Steakhouse on Park Ave, give the Valet $100 tip and still come out cheaper.

But why are they quoting you a price to replace your rotors? 1. if your car has 25k miles on it, are you sure you even need new pads? (do you drive and brake very aggressively?) and 2. What is wrong with your rotors? Even if they're warped you'd just have them turned instead of replacing.

I'd get more information. Get more quotes. (That's way too much money.) and if it were me, I'd find someone local who could help you do it yourself. brakes are very easy to do.

OEM parts aren't cheap. List price for pads and rotors on my ZL1 were $1918, parts only.

@Snoman - dealer is Momentum chevrolet in San Jose. So, you are saying for performance brake pads the price is legit...or go for a cheaper one!
@TacoTime - I do drive little aggressively I think, brakes started squeaking at 20K i ignored thinking that it is probably not a big issue, brakes wouldn't wear at 20k (which melted front rotors)....
But 1600 every 20K is darn expensive also I just replaced pirelli p zeros at 25k which again $1k...high performance cars means keep spending money I guess...lol

get the hawk brake pads and deal with better heat dissipation and quieter braking. i believe you can get the pads for 250 front and rear. then spend another 300 on rotors and do it yourself, 550 call it a day.

I bet the dealer chargers $800-$850 just for the parts and the rest is labor. If you have the room pick up the pads and rotors yourself, there are plenty of websites that offer great pads and rotors for our cars. Then just you tube it and see how it is done, just make sure you have the proper tools before tempting. My car only has 17,5k on it but plan on upgrading to slotted rotors and new pads just so I know what they have been through.
