I think you can install it on either side of the block. I would start with the passenger side. Doesn't sound like youre getting much oil over there.

I swear I read in a post years ago, that idling down when first starting up is good to do to bring the CATS up to temp... im i just being crazy...? just used to it now...

Ok, it was the sending unit. Also, the knock sensor was due to the fact that Big O pinched the wires with the oil filter cap.
