Pedders Extreme XA Coilovers

Someone talk me out of this. Seems like it will fix my wheel fitment issues. I believe it will be better ride quality than my current koni / bmr lowering spring combo. Gives me more adjustability as a street warrior but still better for the track for when I go occasionally. Sooooo talk me OUT of this bc it seems like the perfect solution for 1300 bucks. Are there different coilovers i should be looking at instead at a similar price point? I see the BC racing alot as well. How is a coilover install? Id be doing this in my buddies tiny garage over a weekend hopefully this fall

Pedders are overpriced in my opinion. I installed the Five8 ss coilovers, and they've been great on street and on track. Half the price and well reviewed.

Install can be done in a day.

I have the Pedders along with other BMR pieces I've added to the rear. Pretty happy with them. I'm probably lowered around 1.25" or so. They ride well. Just been debating if I want to set them any firmer than I have now. And of course, that's easy to do. I went with Pedders as I perceived them as the beginning of decent quality coilovers without double the cost of some others. For my situation, they are great. Installation is going to be pretty much the same for all of them.

Pedders and BC seem to be the equivalents a lot of people focus on. The pro people tout on Pedders is no drilling in the trunk. But, I would say that's not really a huge thing and frankly having the rear adjustment up in the trunk might be nice. At the same time unless you track regular and daily, you're probably not going to adjust them much if at all once you are set the way you like. I've yet to see anyone that has direct experience comparing performance between Pedders and BC. I can say Pedders is very quick to respond to email questions.

Does the rears require a special mount for the ones from American Muscle.

I just did Pedder's coilovers on my 2010 2SS and am very happy I did. I looked at the BCs, Megan's, Bilstein, but the Pedder's XA's seemed to be praised and at the right price point. The only drilling required is for the adjusters on the rear shock mounts (was easy).

Install wasn't bad at all. The instructions included were lame, but I found instructions from Lingenfelter that were very helpful. The measurements they provide got me a 1" drop almost perfectly.

I purchased mine from eBay (item # is 186159425404, they are still up) and they came literally the next day.

Overall extremely happy. It rides great. I had an order in for the Koni's and BMR lowering springs, but said f** it, there's no way (for a similar cost) that they will be better than the XAs. I'm glad I went this direction, never having installed coilovers before.

My only regret is not installing front camber plates at the same time before alignment. The stock shock mount is even more "clunky" with the car being lowered/on the stiffer springs.

I did BMR sway bars and front radius rod bushing inserts at the same time as well. The car is way more nimble than it was.

So if i go pedders, add the camber plates? They help?

I had the same thing. And I may still some day move to camber plates as it eliminates the floating concept which I like. But, I will say I eliminated the clunky noise by going back and retightening the top nut after driving it for a while and everything settled in. Found it could be tightened more and that got it quiet. For the left one it wasn't tightening any further until I pulled in the garage and turned the wheels all the way and then it would tighten. So you may have to play with it a bit.

That's helpful, I'll have to try that.

The Pedders coilover setup is a solid option for the 5th Gen. Good ride quality for daily driving and a big improvement in handling over stock or just springs.

Full Pedders lineup is here: Pedders Camaro Suspension

I have had my pedders on my car now for over 2 years and they are great. Dial them in and my spirited driving and launches are much approved over stock.

Just installed pedders on my 15 1LE. Did anyone else just run the ride height adjuster all the way up on the rear for ride height? I’ve had no rubbing on 305/35’s but going to get an alignment tomorrow and don’t want to readjust it by pulling everything apart.
