Threads about the L99 and LS3 always end up in a pissing contest but regardless we are still getting our asses handed to us by the 5.0 boys or so everyone says....

Ok, you guys have convinced me. If you guys will send me the parts, I will convert my LS3 to a L99. The parts shouldn't be a problem, I've read about dozens of L99 to LS3 conversions. There's got to be tons of L99 parts laying around collecting dust. This way I can experience all the fun stuff of L99 ownership, like that really cool exhaust note when the AFM kicks in and the joy of rebuilding my engine after the AFM takes out my rings out.

What I see going on here is Car A is good at "X" and Car B is good at "Y" yet they keep comparing the two....

For some crazy reason when you break it all down, looks like people say the one they own is better simply because its theirs....

There's 3 subjects that you NEVER bring up on these boards unless you WANT to start an argument.
1. LS3 vs L99
2. Auto vs Stick.
3 V8 vs V6
Don't forget '10-'13 Tail lights Vs. '14-'15 Lmao...

Once again, if all you count is straight line. This entire thread is littered with garbage about 0-60 times, 1/4 mile times, etc. There is SO much more to performance than that. People need to stop latching on to one thing their car does well and pretending nothing else exists.....

L99 Owners love to praise how awesome they are in a straight line, mostly because its all they have...I will take a small hit in 0-60 times if I can kick ass on a road course or Autox, still be fun in a straight line, and be able to turn. Its a nice balance.

And why does the LS3 turn better than the L99?

I've raced my car numerous times. I don't go chasing air to get hero runs
either. My car is all stock besides the CAI and the exhaust and ported throttle body that doesn't help any at all.

My best so far 1/8 mile is 8.0 @90mph and 1/4 is 12.40's @ 113 mph.
This is running stock P-Zeros @ 25psi. All with 369 rwhp.

What does yours run and what rwhp?

Apples and oranges....your car is not a Camaro. My run was done @ super chevy in
Memphis..heat was around 80-90 degrees.I'm sure in negative da I could pick up a few tenths.

I didn't realize I would have to start judging my self-worth by my choice in transmission for my car. This thread is so informative!

Right, you have a larger engine, less weight, and a better rear gear ratio! Why would your car be faster?

Oh yeah, I forgot about that one.
But I thought that one kind of settled down after the cars hit the streets, everyone realized that they weren't as ugly as they THOUGHT they were going to be and it wasn't the end of the world after all.
