Qtp low pro help - fuse location
Hey all. I've had these cut outs installed for maybe 2 months now, and this is the second time they've stopped working. I went back to my tuner the first time (needed a quick touch up on the tune) and they swapped out the blown fuse that is located somewhere in the engine bay. I have no idea what it looks like, other than it's most likely a 1 volt tube shaped fuse. Anyone have a pic of it/the location? I've read a lot about problems but couldn't find a pic. Thanks

Trace the wires from the cutouts, you don't even know where your drawing power from....knowledge is power.....

There didn't seem to be much interest in this but here's an update. Finally got to go to the tuner, they rechecked the wires for knicks/burns any thing that might be causing problems then just replaced the burned out fuse again, and I got them to show me where it's located. They put it in the panel beside the steering wheel, super easy to get to. Also upped the fuse from the 1 volt tube fuse to a 20 volt blade type.
I advise anyone that has these installed to get the people to show you where it's located because the choices are pretty wide open. Maybe this will help a random person later lol https://ibb.co/jiD1xF https://ibb.co/cTJZHF

Camrytt, your shop wouldn't spring for an actual fuse holder? Wow, that is crazy. My fab guy is putting a cutout on my 2010 as we speak, it sounded so good the other day with open exhaust. I can't wait to be able to do that at the flip of a switch.

I'd be very leery of putting a 20-volt fuse on that gauge wiring. I did my own install and never had a single issue with the fuse. I would hate to see you have a real short, and the wires, motors, switch catch fire before the fuse blows
I think the reason that you had such a hard time with this is because it could be anywhere. Had I seen this thread, i would have told you to start at the switch and work backward. |
