Custom Gauge Pod

After not being able to find any gauge pod I liked for my nitrous pressure gauge I decided to do the next best thing... build one myself. For now it is painted with Plastidip, but it will probably end up wrapped in leather or something.

Thanks. I thought about that vent, but I didn't want to lose the vent. Gets pretty warm here and I like the AC out of it. Eventually I will probably have a second gauge and I am thinking I will make a matching one on the other side.

Looks good Matt! Next time I come up to put marks in the Amsoil lot I'll have to stop by and take a look. I haven't seen most of your latest work yet.

Thanks Erick... now you just need to pull yourself away from the lake and that smoker to come hang out with us on Saturday...

It has a fiberglass base that was molded to the dash, 2" pvc, cloth & resin. I tried to keep everything as thin and light as I could and still make it strong.

looks go but I'm surprise you didn't save the effort and just get a pillar mount.

A lot of people don't like pillar gauges. I do, but mine is full already. I'd have to look at something like this to get my bottle pressure gauge mounted somewhere. I'm not willing to give up my AC vent either!

I had it mounted on the dash temporarily and decided I wanted it in the dash somewhere. I only have the one gauge and all the pillars I saw were for two anyways.

Erick, we can make you one too if you want... I owe ya for using the shop anyways.

I decided that the pod needed something more, so I found some vinyl and wrapped it. I was able to find some that matched the dash texture pretty close. Looks more finished in my opinion...
