Converted a "to be owner" of a Challenger to buy the new Camaro!!! - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

We are out doing our shopping today and end up stopping by my wife's beading store, Bitter Creek Designs in San Antonio. My wife needed to pick up some beads and parts for orders on custom jewelry.

While we are there, I'm on the phone w/ a few different Camaro5 people. The wife is yelling at me to get off the phone (as always) and begins explaining to the owner of the shop (who drives a duramax diesel Chevy 3500 to work everyday) what I do on the boards and a little about the Camaro. While I'm on the phone (with Tran!! HA!) she smirks at me saying she's getting a Challenger. Of course....there was silence....

Enter....the WIFE. I'm on the phone, so my wife takes over.....suddenly, they are in the back of the store on the computer....and guess what site they are on!

I'm suddenly asked a bunch of questions and I throw out a few key points about the Camaro...and the selling point? The fact that the Camaro she wants is 10k less than the Challenger she was going to get. She said, "I'm SOLD." She gets all excited about saving hundreds on gas as well (since she said her truck is running a bit high in gas cost for simple to and from work transportation). As we were leaving, she was telling us she was going to call her dealer the next day to see about ordering. I mean....

WE HAVE CONVERTED ANOTHER!!!!

Awesome! Kudos to both of you. I wonder if the thought of a referral program has ever entered GM's mind. Set it up so that any driver of a current model can refer someone to the same model and receive $100.00 from GM. Then GM would have an instant 100,000 sales people and not have to hire anyone. Even offer a $100.00 credit at GMPP if they wanted the program to cost less.

I guarantee Dodge will stop making the Challenger within 2 years of the Camaro's release.

Just depends on how low volume can go without requiring higher prices. They are invested, the factory is already setup, etc, so they'll milk the Mopar fans as long as they can. Chrysler is used to big volume drops after their first year of sales after all.
