Custom track-only tune?

Just curious, does anyone use a 'track-only' tune for race days?

I've got HPTuners, that's what brought up the question. I'm curious, what did you change between the two? Just in general terms, not necessarily specifics as I understand they depend entirely on your specific engine and the environmental variables.

Pump gas tune vs race gas tune.

It's a big secret, that everyone on here and the other forums won't tell anyone. I know some guys are playing with timing on launch in order to prevent spinning and some other tricks with torque management.

My car doesn't fit on my tuners hub dyno, but he also owns the local racetrack ( six sigma tuning & marion County raceway). My car is 100% track tuned

If you're a turbo car like myself, its faster to pull timing and put it back in than pull boost and try to build it again.

Yeah, I'm just getting started learning my way around HP Tuners; I've got a lot to read before I actually change anything outside of fan temp, idle speeds, and gear ratios. Although I did disable the skip shift, so that was my first big tune item to make sure I didn't break anything :-)

I've lived around here all my life and never knew there was a track in Marion. I've been to Norwalk, 42, Quaker City, and National Trail. Time to add a new one!
