Power Outlet Issue

Have a Garmin connected thru the front power outlet. When I first start the car in the morning (getting colder in New England) the indicator light for the Garmin power cord does not light up. Drive about a mile and the indicator light comes on and powers up the Garmin

Tried another Garmin power cord and the same things happen.

Thinking fuse maybe??

Any other thoughts?

Thanks

Highly doubt it would be a fuse issue.
A fuse would either work or not work. They don't come and go intermittently.

It could be the contacts inside the socket though.
Make sure your getting a good connection when you plug in the connector.

I think it's your Garmin, try the power outlet in the center console and see if it does the same thing or like RollaMo said, make sure your plug is pushed in all the way.

Thanks to everyone. Will plug in power cords in both outlets to see if they are exhibiting the same symptoms. It is not the Garmin, since the power outlets are not lighting up.

Will post the results.

I hard wired an outlet into the fuse panel and ran it under the dash to keep my outlets available. Got the info from one of the treads on here.

Love Garmins, we have TomToms also but not as user friendly IMO.

Try outlet w Gremlin in someone else's ride. Simplest things first.

Still a Problem

Left the Garmin plugged into the front power outlet. Plugged in an Iphone power into the console power outlet.

When the car is first started in the morning, both outlets do not work.

And, traveling down the road, both outlets power up at the same time.

Later in the day, the outlets start up when the car is started.

Could it be length of time without starting the car, or possibly temperature?

Tried to check the Owner's Manual and it looks, at least to me, that each outlet in on a separate fuse, so it must up upstream from the fuse box.

Appreciate all the assistance.

Based on the indicator lights of the power cords, they both do not have power initially.

So your theory of delay on the power outlets seems to agree on what I am seeing.

Any suggestions on how to find out from Chevrolet if this is the way it is designed?

Is there someone from Oshawa or Customer Service that frequents this Forum.

Thanks

Neither one of my power outlets work. Does anyone know which fuse# it is for me to replace it and test to see if it was the fuse?

I believe that there is a fuse for each Power Outlet. I posted this in the Warranty Section and received a response that both the Outlets are controlled by a Relay. My car is in the shop and will let everyone know the resolution:
