Just intalled my ebay cold air intake
I bought a cold air intake from ebay for $120, The ebay user rating was very high so i figured id go with it. The installation was pretty easy only took me a little over an hour. It works great i can definitely hear the difference and feel it a little more on take off. What do you guys think should have i gotten a better brand like vararam or k&n? Would the gains have been a lot better?
Over all i'm very happy with it for the price, and would recommend. |

Nah there really is no gain performance wise from any cold air intake. Just looks. Maybe 2 or 3 hp but nothing significant.

Now you need to add a mass airflow sensor and American Thunder Flowmasters to complete your Mod. Once you open up the front end, you might as well open up the back end. And yes, I also did notice a big difference in performance on my 2011 LS.

There is a relocation kit, but bought my '13 SS before I could get it done.

Nope - I removed the bottle and installed the adm scoop without even removing the front wheel or fully removing the wheel well liner. It definitely isn't the easiest way but there is room to get it done if you don't have a jack or stands

To me all intakes are the same, as long as you have a good heat shield and the MAF location is correct you'll be fine.

Before you buy a Jet MAF, do a search on the forum to find out its true value.

I wonder
I've installed 2 K&N CAI when I started to go that route and I got a CEL both times.
Than I decided to go to the open air filter route like I see on many many Stangs that don't have a heat shield. I installed a G5CR CAI over 2 years ago and man I felt the difference. I runned my car with a ACS Nickey Chicago Hood with a ram air to the filter for 2 yeas and I recently changed it to an ACS TL1 Hood with lots of hot air coming out and fresh air coming in . I never regretted going with the open filter and I'm not a fan of closed in-a-box CAI which I beleive are not getting enough fresh air drom the grill. I'm getting the car dynoed in the next weeks than I'll get the exact figures on HP and Tork gains
