iPhone 8 Not Streaming Music

Hi everyone. I recently bought a 2010 RS Camaro and it looks like the stereo is stock, but has bluetooth, using A2DP, which iPhone 8 should support, however, my phone is not seeing the stereo other than for nav stuff. Anyone been able to get their iPhone 8 to stream music? Appreciate any info, thanks!

Thanks Rebel, yeah USB works just fine. Was a little surprised that streaming isn't working. I was thinking a software update, but not sure where to get?

Im thinking the car's firmware is not up to date to the newer model Iphone. My wife had a similar issue with her 2018 CLA. only the opposite, her phone wasn't up to date as opposed to the new cars electronics.

You cannot stream newer phones on the 5th gens. I just use my USB. Sounds good and charges the phone too.

My 2015 ZL1's bluetooth music streaming works just fine with my iPhone 8+ (running iOS 12 beta, as well).

My 2011 came with a directions and connections package and streams Bluetooth. You have to pull the function up on radio menu

My iPhone X streams just fine in my 15. Maybe it doesn’t work on the earlier ones? Or maybe only certain head units?

Appreciate the input fellas/gals. Not a major thing, just miss having it like my Silverado. Tried 2 iPhones, none work, different models. Different iOS versions. Appreciate the help! Hoping maybe Chevy dealer can update it, maybe

I use bluetooth on my 2010 to play iPod output because I have the well know USB static problem.

The bluetooth on Gen5 sound systems works like a bluetooth speaker. So if your phone can send audio to bluetooth speakers, you should be able to send audio to the sound system, I would think.

I was unable to do this on my 2011 and just as well on the 2010 I have now. Not sure why.. but it is not working either. I just use USB and call it a day. Only problem I have is not being able to charge my phone as quickly on the 2010 compared to the 2011. I always have to bring a portable USB charger with me to be safe. Went on a road trip for a day in Florida in the 2010 playing music from my iPhone 7+ 4 hrs one way and another back... phone almost died on me. Never again. Wonder if there is a way to update the USB charging system in the older model 5th Gens? Hands free Bluetooth calling works fine though.
