Halo as DRL’s?

I’ve got a 2010 2SS, I’m wanting to switch my DRL’s from the lower fog light’s to the halo’s and i’m curious to if anyone’s done it before. If it’s possible, i’d like my halo’s to come on as DRL’s, and the fog lights to somehow only come on when i have the headlights on. Essentially, i want the halo’s on all the time when i start the car and the fog lights to come on only when the headlights are on. I’m aware of the harness that’s made to have the DRL fog lights on at all times, that’s not really what i’m looking for. Has anyone done this?

If memory serves me correctly, you can just move your headlight switch one notch to the left and get most of what you want.

I wired my side markers to my fog lights so that they and the halos come on all the time and just disconnected my fog lights at the bulbs since I don't use them. This makes it so when my knob's on auto, during the daytime, I've got sidemarkers, halos, and taillights on. At night, just the headlights kick on and everything else is the same.

Not exactly what you're looking for but just an idea.

so did you wire the fog light harness to the side markers and also spliced into the halo’s? i’ve been thinking of just making a harness that plugs into the fog light harness and splice that into the halo’s and then just run the fog lights off a separate switch under the dash. the only thing i’ve been thinking about for that is that the halo’s would turn off when the headlights come on, so i’ve been trying to come up with a way to have the halo’s automatically come on during the day, and stay on when the headlights come on at night, all this with the switch set to auto.

We have two harness versions for this. One is a straight, "DRL Move" and the other is "DRL/Halo Always On".

cool man sounds like what i’m looking for. now does that mean the halo’s also stay on at night as well as the fogs? from what i read it sounds like the halo’s take over the DRL function obviously, and are on during the day, but obviously the DRL’s, now halo’s, turn off at night in the normal DRL operation and i’m looking to have the halo’s on all the time and fogs on at night.

So to confirm, I'd have to rewire my Halos from the sidemarkers into the fog lights and then use the desired harness? I have the non-RS setup where the low beams are my DRLs.

Thanks.

We have a specific, non-RS, DRL-Move harness for that situation.

Yes, best to go back to stock first.

Thanks. I believe it's the one you previously linked:

http://sjmautoprod.com/5th-gen-camar...e-harness.html

and then select the non-RS.

Thanks! This plug and play option is much easier than what I was trying to do.

Would your harness keep the halo on while the turn signal is on? OEM halos turn off when the turn signal is initiated.
