My first time doing runs was today. Was a bit disappointed. I have L99 vert. Installed Kooks LTs, Airaid, Borla S axle back exhaust and SCT tune from Ted. First run was 14.149 with 60' at 2.297. Second was 14.06 with 60' at 2.178. Third was 13.98 with 60' at 2.18. Temp was 83 alt about 1000 ft.
Used comp mode and S mode auto, didn't use paddles. Also had over 3/4 tank gas. All else in car is stock. SS RS wheels. So is vert slower than HT to any great extent? How much did almost full gas tank affect run? Finally, staying in auto v shifters? I realize my launch has to improve. But wondering if these other points have an effect of up to a second in run time (or more?). Thanks |

Thanks. Each of my runs improved. Will try again in a week or two and see if an evening run is better.

That's still only in stock territory for a Vert. With headers and CAI, you should be much better. My guess is that you were pulling lots of timing because of the heat. If you can, log your intake air temps, coolant temps, and look for knock reduction. You'd benefit from some tuning at the track. Padre |

Thanks. Next time I will try some changes. It was pretty warm as I was soaked after each run from heat in the car. On head to head runs, I won each heat, so maybe others were equally affected.
On the monitoring parameters, other than the in car gauges, how would you recommend that be done? |

Otherwise, you'll just have to look at the coolant temp in-car. You might also look into an OBD scanner like http://www.palmerperformance.com/pro...hone/index.php Padre |
