E85 questions!

So I currently have headers, Corsa and RF intake with Elite catch can! Going for tune next Monday! When I got on here for my first round of mods. I got some real good advice. So now I’m looking at round 2 of mods. I wanted some more advice.

I’ll be doing the next round of mods within the next 6 months and going for a retune! I was curious. I currently have 850cc injectors + BAP, on my list bc I hadn’t fully committed to e85. I have now. From my understanding I’ll need 1200cc + injectors? And a dual 450 fuel pump? Or will a BAP be sufficient? I’ll also be using a GPI flex fuel kit. Will this setup work or will I need anything else? Injectors, flex fuel kit and BAP / or dual fuel pump?

I’ll also be running a 10” crank pulley, idler relocation bracket + 70” green gates belt, AFCO dual fan HX, 160* thermostat, NGK TR7IX plugs, reinforced intercooler brick and that should be it. Anything I’m missing?

Also generally speaking with all those mods. What are dyno # like with those mods? I don’t even know what the car will make with just headers, cat back and intake + tune. Let alone all that plus e85, cooling mods and pulley swap.

I went with 1300s and a DSX aux pump for e85. 2.5/9.5 pulleys.

I’ve never really looked up info on aux style fuel pumps. What’s the difference between say the DSX aux pump , a dual 450 pump and I get a BAP just spikes the voltage of the factory pump.

Don't have to drop the tank for an aux pump. It comes with demand.

Well I wanted to do it in stages. My tuner is not really charging me twice. So it won’t be any lost funds for me. I just wanted to do H/E/I and catch can and tune for that. Then get all other mods and install. Retune and be done with it.

I did search. I just found so many different variables, setups and answers. I wanted a more direct, up to date reply.

After further research on the DSX kit it shows 1000 hp capable for e85. I’m not shooting nothing near that. Maybe 750-800 tops. Easier install. And both a dual 450 and DSX aux kit should get the job done. So it’s really just a matter of preference? I see the DSX aux kit being $999. Seems like a good solid deal to me.

Will I need anything else? 1200-1300cc injectors, DSX aux kit, and flex fuel kit?

Cold air, headers, cam, springs, flex fuel kit, aux pump, injectors, pulleys and a good tune should net you 750ish. I put meth injection on top just for security. I'm at 757 through a 4L80 on a conservative tune in 3000 DA.

Then you will need suspension upgrades and decent set of wheels and tires to put the power to the ground.

Glad 750 is pretty achievable. I plan on doing a little weight reduction as well.

I didn’t really wanna do cam. I do however plan on doing some suspension mods. Toe and trailing arm BMR upgrades and 17x10 wheel w/ 28x10 Hoosier at some point.

For now I have headers, intake, Corsa and tune next week.
I plan on doing 1200-1300cc injectors, E85, flex fuel kit, aux pump, 10” crank pulley with all supporting mods. And cooling mods (dual fan HX, 160* thermostat, SC coolant res, etc) to prevent as much heat soak and HP loss as possible. Hoping for 750 or close to it.

Better add reinforcing the brick to the list with that lower pulley.

Yep! That’s on my list! As well as NGK TR7IX plugs. Anything else I’m missing?

750 without a cam is going to be difficult.

If you're doing 1300's and aux pump, I would also consider new rails. And while you're in the bay a Melling oil pump. And if you're doing all this I don't understand the reticence of a stage 2 or 3 cam...it will get you where you want to go in a hurry.

I guess if I did a cam I wouldn’t want a beefy cam that needs a stall or upgraded gear ratio. I dig the drivability of the car. I wanna keep it tame. If that makes sense. Is 700 wheel achievable without a cam?

Slide a BTR 1 or 2 in there, or a GP Tuning 1 or 2. If you want it to sound totally stock, put in an LS9 cam. Even the LS9 cam is worth 25-30rwhp over the anemic LSA cam. And of course the BTR and GP Tuning (or other "small" / "stage 1") cams will make even more than that.
